Florida Amendment 4 Fails — Life Wins!
WASHINGTON—In a victory for life, Florida’s Amendment 4 has failed.
“By rejecting Amendment 4, Floridians saw through the lies and deceptions of the abortion industry-backed effort to legalize late-term abortion, remove parental consent and open the door to force taxpayer-funded abortions,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Florida Governor Ron DeSantis deserves special recognition for taking the abortion industry head on and setting a new standard for what it means to be a Pro-Life Champion as a state’s chief executive.”
National Right to Life Victory Fund is proud to have engaged in this contest at a historic level by making 4,481,988 voter contacts through streaming services, peer-to-peer texting, voice calls, door-to-door conversations and other online formats. All this comes in addition to the grassroot activities spearheaded by Florida Right to Life and other coalitions that united to defeat the radical Amendment 4.
“The pro-abortion lobby out spent the pro-life organizations more than 2-1 and still, in spite of the barrage of false claims about Florida’s heartbeat bill, they were defeated,” stated Lynda Bell, president of Florida Right to Life and co-founder of Do No Harm Florida. “We were grossly outspent, worked countless hours, drove across the state of Florida speaking out against this vile amendment and our grassroots team was second to none.”
Founded in 1968, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide, and euthanasia.
