National Right to Life on the “Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act”
WASHINGTON – At a Capitol Hill press conference today, Representative Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Representative Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) and Representative Michelle Fischbach (R-Minn.), spoke before the press about the introduction of the “Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act of 2025” (H.R. 2226).
The “Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act of 2025” would prohibit discrimination against entities like pregnancy centers that do not perform abortions.
“Attorneys general in several states have mounted campaigns targeting pregnancy centers,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “The ‘Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act’ will provide relief for the nearly 3,000 pregnancy centers across the country that support women and their children by meeting their needs and providing services for free.”
It is estimated that in 2022 alone, over $367 million in goods and services were provided to pregnancy center clients including cribs, car seats, diapers and formula. Centers offer free ultrasounds, information about abortion, adoption, and abortion pill reversal as well as parenting classes. They also connect clients who are in need to local resources that can help with housing or job searches.
And pregnancy centers are a beacon of hope for women searching for healing after an abortion.
Marie Tasy, executive director of New Jersey Right to Life, the New Jersey affiliate of National Right to Life, spoke at today’s press conference and noted, “The ‘Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act’ is sorely needed to protect Pregnancy Resource Centers in my state and across the country from government officials like the N.J. attorney general who works side by side with pro-abortion activists to target, malign, and shut down non-profit pro-life pregnancy centers.”
Founded in 1968, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of affiliates in each of the 50 states, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. National Right to Life works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.
